Canadian Mainline Winter 2025/2026 Open Season for STFT

 July 30, 2025

TransCanada's Canadian Mainline is currently posting Short Term Firm Transportation ("STFT") in this Short Term Capacity Open Season (the "Open Season") for December 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026 and December 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 terms only. TransCanada will be accepting bids in the Short Term Firm Open Season each business day.

Please note, capacities listed in this STFT Open Season are incremental to the capacity amounts being offered in the July 25, 2025 to August 14, 2025 Existing Capacity Open Season ("ECOS") and in the concurrent New Capacity Open Season (“NCOS”). Therefore, awarded capacity from this STFT Open Season would not change the amount offered in the ECOS or NCOS Open Seasons.

STFT Bid floors are shown at Short Term Capacity: Bid Floors. Please note, the Mainline Rate Rider is not applicable for STFT. The capacity available is located in the tables below.

Open Season & Bidding Procedure Highlights

  • Bids must be received by TransCanada no later than 8:00 a.m. MT (Calgary time) each business day.
  • Term: December 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026 and December 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026
  • System Segment Capacity:
    • Some posted segments share common capacity.  A successful bid on one system segment may reduce the capacity on another system segment.
    • Any bids that pertain to common capacity will be evaluated together for allocation purposes.
    • Each capacity segment requested must be on an individual bid form
  • Conditional Bidding: STFT bids can be conditioned on another STFT bid
    • If an STFT bid is conditional on other STFT bids, and any of these STFT bids require a reduction to the maximum daily quantity, the maximum daily quantity for the other STFT bid will be reduced by the same percentage.
    • Please submit each set of conditional bids in a separate fax, to provide clarity on which bids are related.
  • Minimum Acceptable Quantity: May be specified by bidder in the event that prorating capacity is necessary
  • There are no Diversions, Alternate Receipt Points, or Renewal Rights with any STFT service
  •  Please note that the STFT bid floor percentage is applied only to the applicable Daily Demand Toll for FT service and not applied to abandonment surcharge or pressure charge.
